I want a lover I don't have to love

I want a boy who's so drunk he doesn't talk

Where's the kid with the chemicals?
I've got a hunger and I can't seem to get full
I need some meaning I can memorize

The kind I have always seems to slip my mind
But you, but you... You write such pretty words
But life's no storybook
Love's an excuse to get hurt And to hurt.
Do you like to hurt?
I do,
I do

Don't Ever Buy nothing From A Man Named Truth...

Reading Festival is upon me, I leave tommorow for an exteneded weekend of amazing music, drunken antics and a distinct lack of food/sleep, should be good.

I got my results last thursday before setting off to Southend for the weekend, which was awesome, my results less so, but I'll rectify that come January, I'll write a massive post (makes a change...) when I get back from Reading Festivallllll

If I go to heaven, I'll be bored as hell, like a little baby at the bottom of a well.

Bon Voyage... I'm hitting the road baby, and trust me it's gonna be crazy...

Let's Not Shit Ourselves....

(To Love And Be Loved)

I'm shattered from Underage festival, I'm going to a work meal tonight, I'm all over the place as of current, and I have re fallen in love with Bright eyes, Enjoy;

Well, the animals laugh from the dark of the wilderness.
A baby cries hard in an apartment complex,
as I pass in a car buried under the influence.
The city's driving me out of my mind.
I've seen a child is caught in the sad trap of gravity.
He falls from the lowest branch of the apple tree
and lands in the grass and weeps for his dignity.
Next time he will not aim so high.
Yeah, next time, neither will I.
Now a mother takes loans out, sends her kids off to colleges.
Her family's reduced to names on a shopping list.
While, a coroner kneels beneath a great, wooden crucifix.
He knows there's worse things than being alone.
And so I've learned to retreat at the first sign of danger.
I mean, why wait around, if it's just to surrender?
An ambition, I've found, can lead only to failure.
I do not read the reviews.
No, I am not singing for you.
Well I stood dropping a coin into the pit of a well.
And I would throw my whole billfold if I thought it would help.
With all these wishes I make,
I should buy something real, at least a telephone call home.
Well, my teachers, they built this retaining wall of memory,
all those multiple choices I answered so quickly.
And got my grades back and forgot just as easily,
but as least I got an A.
And so I don't have them to blame.
Well I should stop pointing fingers;
reserve my judgment of all those public action figures,
the cowboy presidents.
So loud behind the bullhorn, so proud they can't admit
when they've made a mistake.
While poison ink spews from a speechwriter's pen,
he knows he don't have to say it,
so it, it don't bother him.
"Honesty", "Accuracy" is just "Popular Opinion."
And the approval rating's high,
and so someone's gonna die.
Well ABC, NBC, CBS: Bullshit.
They give us fact or fiction? I guess an even split.
And each new act of war is tonight's entertainment.
We're still the pawns in their game.
As they take eye for an eye until no one can see,
we must stumble blindly forward, repeating history.
Well, I guess we all fit into your slogan
on the fast food marquee:
Red blooded, White skinned oh and the Blues.
Oh and the Blues, I got the Blues! That's me! That's me!
Well, I awoke in relief.
My sheets and tubes were all tangled weak from whiskey and pills,
in a Chicago hospital.
And my father was there, in a chair, by the window, staring so far away.
I tried talking, just whispered, "...so sorry...so selfish..."
He stopped me and said, "Child I love you regardless
and there's nothing you could do that would ever change this.
I'm not angry. It happens. But you just can't do it again."
So now I try to keep up, I've been exchanging my currency.
While a million objects pass through my periphery.
Now I'm rubbing my eyes 'cause they're starting to bother me.
I've been staring too long at the screen.
But where was it when I first heard a sweet sound of humility?
It came to my ears in the goddamn loveliest melody.
How grateful I was then to be part of the mystery,
to love and to be loved. Let's just hope that is enough.

I'll do a proper post tomorrow....

WHYSOSERIOUS?

General

I've been back from Cevvenes for a little over a week, and it's been hectic...

I've Worked loads of extra hours, helped me granddad out with Pond Maintenance, worked some more and maybe had a day off somewhere....

I'm pretty exhausted but, still the weather's been good (he says as he is deafened by the rain at his window)

I wonder if my Dad has even bothered to read ANY of this, If he has or does rather then I'm sure I'll get an earful soon enough....

Music

This week I've been mostly listening to the following

  • Born Ruffians
  • Mumford & Sons
  • The Jam
  • Bright Eyes
  • Elle Milano

For further information, and an even bigger list of what I've been listening to then you are welcome to check out my Last.fm

I'm am currently trying to get into classic artists, and broaden my musical tastes, that's why I've also been listening to Marvin Gaye's classic - What's going on and plenty of Lou Reed, And The Doors.

Movies

I watched the Dark Knight on Friday, let's just say it deserves every bit of hype it has received, and it is one of the best action films I've ever seen, rest assured a full review will be up here quick sharp, after I've seen it again for the second time and probably the third.....

General...again

The blog I mentioned in my first post that is run by me and my friend will be initiated this week.
Despite wanting it to be a surprise it really isn't, It'll be a food review guide for Brighton and will be called;

The Joe Ben Jovi Guide to dining in and around Brighton....

Joe Ben Jovi, because My Name is Ben, and his name is Jovi.... Only kiddin' his name is Joe...

Also expect more reviews etccc because I need to start being creative, productive, and worthwile

What is right is wrong to hide
Drapped in your own flag
Is this really Pride?

A flood of admiration
he must stand the strain
of his own suffocation

Lately I've Been Wishing I had One Desire

Something that would make me never want another,
Something that would make it so that nothing matters,
All would be clearer then
Bright Eyes - A Perfect Sonnet

Music Saves me, really it does. Bright Eyes are one of the purest and most perfect bands I have ever listened to. Very few artists manage to encompass such passion, emotions and power in songs the way Bright Eyes do, and even fewer artists am I able to relate to in such a personal way.

I may never get a chance to thank Connor Oberst personally, so on here I'll say thank you Connor for getting me through High school.

Today, Unrelated, Uninteresting and Unimportant....

I am going away on Saturday for a week long trip, I mentioned it in another post but I'll forgive you if you haven't read that one, or this one as a matter of fact. Enough waffle, I do that too much, I get it from my Dad, he never gets to the point, he never does I swear.

Instead of being given the opportunity to shoot a short film of our choice whilst away on the trip we instead have to follow around a bunch of biology and geography students and video their experiments and shit. The teachers are making us do their jobs for them so they can sue our video footage to advertise the trip to next years students, apparently it will look good in out portfolio, as If I'm gonna tell my university or possible employers that instead of doing complicated experiments I instead have the capacity to hold an object in the face of the people who can do these complicated experiments and ask dimdwitted half thought out questions, Im sure employers love type of stuff. Anyways what a fucking joke, totally worth £400....

I'll probably just take the time to write some poetry and lyrics, I really need to get some of that stuff down....

Talking of lyrics and Poetry and great musicians, I'll make the first mention Of Morrissey right now, I will dedicate an entire post to The Smiths and how they got me/ are getting me through college soon. Man Marr and Morrissey are genius, anyways to the point.

Listen to Morrissey's cover of The Jam's; That's Entertainment It's beautiful.

Here's a youtube link because I'm too scared to give you an illegal download link

HERE

Enjoy, next time I'll try and write soemthing less corny.
